India, Oct. 2 -- Ferrari's Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap in a scorching second practice session at the Sepang International Circuit on Friday, edging out Red Bull's Isack Hadjar and McLaren's Lando Norris.

Clocking a benchmark time of 1:37.528 on soft Pirelli tyres, Leclerc finished just 0.099 seconds clear of a flying Hadjar.

Lando Norris rounded out the top three as frontrunners battled extreme track temperatures approaching 60 degrees Celsius under overcast Malaysian skies.
