India, Sept. 26 -- George Russell converted pole position into a dramatic victory at the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026, holding off Max Verstappen by just one-tenth of a second in a tense finish around the Baku City Circuit. The Mercedes driver controlled the opening phase before two Safety Car interventions transformed the race.

Verstappen applied late pressure after the final restart, but Russell kept his composure to claim his third win of the season. Isack Hadjar completed the Formula 1 podium for Red Bull, while Kimi Antonelli recovered from 16th to fifth.
