India, May 3 -- The recently released exit polls for the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections point to a possible shift in voting behaviour, particularly among women voters. Several survey agencies indicate that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may have made significant gains within a demographic that has traditionally supported the Trinamool Congress (TMC). According to data released after voting concluded on April 29, the BJP is projected to be ahead of the TMC in overall seat share.
