India, June 28 -- A severe heatwave continues to affect large parts of Europe, with several countries recording temperatures above 40degC. The prolonged spell of extreme heat has claimed dozens of lives, disrupted transport and energy systems, and forced governments to issue health alerts. According to the report, the preliminary temperature records have been broken in several countries, while climate scientists say the intensity of the heatwave has been made significantly more likely by human-caused climate change.
