India, Sept. 22 -- England head into the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka with plenty of confidence after completing a 3-0 T20I sweep. Although their wider ODI record in 2026 has been inconsistent, with five defeats in their last nine completed matches, they have already beaten Sri Lanka 2-1 in an ODI series earlier this year. Joe Root has been a standout performer, scoring 525 ODI runs at an average of 105, while stand-in captain Harry Brook has also enjoyed strong numbers against Sri Lanka. With Jofra Archer leading the pace attack, England will look to carry their recent momentum into the longer format.
