India, Oct. 1 -- An Emirates Airbus A380 heading from Dubai to London Heathrow was diverted to Frankfurt on Thursday, October 1, after its crew declared a general emergency while the aircraft was flying over Europe. The flight, EK31, had been cruising at around 40,000 feet when it transmitted the internationally recognised 7700 emergency code, prompting the aircraft to descend and head toward Frankfurt Airport.

The aircraft, registered A6-EDX, landed safely at Frankfurt Airport and later moved to a remote stand. The diversion interrupted the planned Dubai-London journey and left passengers waiting in Germany before a scheduled recovery service to London.
