India, Sept. 19 -- The Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) election 2026 took a dramatic turn on September 18 when NSUI presidential candidate Vijay Shankar Meena alleged that members of his family were detained after polling began. He also claimed that his associate and brother Arjun was detained outside Bhagat Singh College. Meena made the allegations in a video shared on social media while voting for the four central DUSU posts was underway.

The allegations came as Meena emerged as one of the key faces in this year's presidential contest against ABVP's Yash Dabas and AISA-SFI's Ananya Raturi. Voting took place on September 18, while counting was scheduled for September 19.
