India, Sept. 18 -- The Delhi University Students' Union election has entered its final stage under strict judicial scrutiny, with the Delhi High Court imposing a major restriction before the results are announced. As students vote across Delhi University on Friday, the court has ordered that no candidate, student or supporter can hold a victory procession after the results are declared on Saturday.
The direction follows allegations of violence, weapon display, luxury vehicle cavalcades and other violations during the campaign. The court has also issued notice to 140 student candidates and warned that student organisations could face collective electoral damages for repeated violations of election rules.
