India, May 4 -- In the Durgapur Paschim constituency, BJP's Lakshman Chandra Ghorui is contesting against TMC's Kabi Dutta and CPI(M)'s Pravash Sain. Apart from them, 11 other candidates are also in the fray.

In the 2021 Assembly elections, Ghorui defeated TMC's Biswanath Parial by 14,664 votes. This year, he is aiming for a bigger margin. The constituency recorded a voter turnout of 90.27% in the 2026 elections, much higher than 72.6% in 2021. Polling was held on April 23, 2026.
