India, Aug. 21 -- U.S. stocks rebounded on Friday, August 21, after Wall Street suffered a sharp sell-off in the previous session. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.68%, or 361.71 points, at 53,119.88 in morning trading, while the S&P 500 gained 0.39% and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.19%.

However, the recovery remained fragile as investors continued to monitor elevated Treasury yields, oil prices, inflation risks and the Federal Reserve's interest-rate outlook. Reuters reported that all three major U.S. indexes were still heading for weekly losses despite Friday's rebound.
