India, Sept. 4 -- Dow futures slipped 0.1% on Friday, September 4, as investors awaited the closely watched U.S. jobs report for August and assessed the latest signals on the Federal Reserve's interest-rate outlook. The move followed a strong Wall Street rally in the previous session, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped more than 624 points.

The Dow closed Thursday at 53,686.11, up 624.16 points, or 1.18%, after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller indicated that he could support keeping interest rates steady if upcoming data confirms that inflation pressures are easing.
