India, Aug. 31 -- Country music icon Dolly Parton has been laid to rest beside her late husband, Carl Dean, following a private funeral attended by her immediate family. Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80. Her great-niece, Lainey Parton, revealed that the singer was laid to rest on Friday, August 28, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Tennessee.

Lainey shared the news in an emotional Instagram tribute the following day, posting throwback photographs of herself with Dolly and remembering the country legend as her "granny."
