India, May 12 -- The Wall Street Journal, in its latest report, claimed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) secretly launched direct attacks on Iran in early April. According to the report, the UAE entered the ongoing Middle East conflict by carrying out strikes inside Iranian territory.
As per the report, the UAE targeted Iran's refinery located on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf. The facility was Iran's 10th-largest refinery as of 2020 and was processing around 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The alleged attack reportedly occurred at the same time as US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, following a five-week air campaign.
