India, Sept. 27 -- Today, India faces a major challenge: generally low wages and salaries across both the unorganized and organized sectors. Ironically, despite the existence of comprehensive rules and regulations regarding minimum wages, workers in the unorganized sector often do not receive even the statutory minimum wage. Even in the organized sector, the majority of workers are employed on a contract basis or hired through contractors.
