India, Aug. 9 -- Delhi witnessed another spell of heavy rainfall on Saturday, with the capital recording its wettest 24-hour period in August in two years. Safdarjung, the city's base weather station, received 98.7 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am on Friday and 8.30 am on Saturday, according to weather data. The higher single-day rainfall recorded in August was last reported in 2024, when Safdarjung received 107.6 mm of rain on August 1. The persistent showers have pushed Delhi's rainfall total for August close to the monthly normal, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more light rain in the coming days.
