Delhi sees sharp rise in H1N1 cases this monsoon
India, Aug. 16 -- Delhi records sharp H1N1 rise, prompting doctors to closely monitor severe and persistent symptoms.
Delhi is seeing a marked increase in H1N1 influenza, commonly known as swine flu, this monsoon, with the number of confirmed cases crossing 1,400 this week. The capital had reported 1,449 cases as of August 12, more than six times the 229 cases recorded during the corresponding period last year. The rise is being reflected in hospital outpatient departments, where doctors are encountering more people with high fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue and body ache.
