India, April 5 -- The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) on Monday announced its "Summer Action Plan 2026," aiming to tackle peak-season water shortages through a mix of infrastructure upgrades, technology integration, and public participation. The plan was unveiled by Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, who set a production target of 1,002 million gallons per day (MGD) to meet the capital's rising demand.
With water consumption surging during the summer months, the government has deployed 1,221 GPS-enabled water tankers to supply deficit areas.
