India, May 23 -- Delhi-NCR remains in the grip of an acute heat wave situation, as the mercury level is higher than usual in most parts of the region. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), maximum temperatures in many areas are forecast to be in the range of 43-45degC over the next few days.

The Safdarjung observatory, which monitors the climate of Delhi, has recently experienced temperatures exceeding 43degC, whereas certain parts of the area such as Ridge have experienced temperatures crossing the mark of 44degC.
