India, June 15 -- Delhi witnessed a sudden and dramatic weather shift on Monday afternoon as a massive dust storm swept across the city, plunging several areas into darkness and bringing life to a brief standstill. The sudden storm comes after days of scorching heat and humidity, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a Red Alert for Delhi-NCR.

The sharp change in weather was triggered by a clash between hot, dry air over northwest India and moisture-laden winds moving inland. According to weather experts, this interaction often leads to strong pre-monsoon storms in the region.
