India, Oct. 9 -- Delhi is preparing for another tense weekend as authorities tighten security across the capital ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar. As part of the preventive measures, the Delhi government has ordered all specified retail liquor shops to remain closed for two days - October 9 and 10.

The Excise Department issued the closure order on Thursday, citing the "prevailing situation" and inputs from the Delhi Police. Officials said the step aims to prevent any law-and-order problem and maintain "public order" during the period of heightened political activity.
