India, April 26 -- The national capital is bracing for a surge in temperatures, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning that the mercury could climb to around 44degC, triggering heatwave-like conditions across parts of the city.

Temperatures Set to Peak Near 44degC

According to IMD's latest forecast, Delhi's maximum temperature is expected to hover close to 44 degrees Celsius, significantly above seasonal norms for late April. Despite a relatively lower minimum temperature of 26.2degC recorded on Sunday morning, daytime heat remains intense, contributing to rising thermal discomfort.
