India, Sept. 27 -- Newly disclosed Ministry of Defence documents show that in September 2019, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved an order directing Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to halt disciplinary action against three of its own vigilance officials, M.M. Pandey, R.K. Goyal and Sumeet Krishna, who had investigated alleged irregularities in the Indian Air Force's Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS), a project involving contracts worth about Rs 7,900 crore. Despite that order, BEL's disciplinary proceedings against the three continued, and all three were eventually dismissed from service.
