India, Aug. 22 -- Deepika Padukone and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have somehow found themselves back in the middle of a conversation that began more than a year ago. The actor's decision to walk away from Spirit, Vanga's upcoming Prabhas starrer, was first reported in April 2025. Since then, the story has involved work hours, remuneration, alleged creative differences and a public exchange that kept the issue alive.

Now, the discussion has returned after Vanga's brother Pranay Reddy Vanga spoke about Deepika's exit and claimed that a demand for a share in the film's profits was among the reasons. Around the same time, Deepika also liked an Instagram post criticising the filmmaker and his brother's comments.
