India, Oct. 16 -- Deepak Sandhu, a 24-year-old Indian national, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering Xiaoqing Ke, 39, at an Airbnb bedsit in Earl's Court, London. He must serve a minimum of 28 years in prison and was also convicted of perverting the course of justice.

The Old Bailey heard that Sandhu killed Ke after she ended their brief relationship, having discovered he had stolen £500 from her and lied about his life. He was arrested while travelling towards Birmingham Airport after booking a one-way flight to Mumbai.
