India, Aug. 30 -- Tom Cruise is heading back to the racetrack, nearly four decades after Days Of Thunder introduced audiences to NASCAR driver Cole Trickle. The actor is set to reprise his iconic role in the upcoming sequel, with Anne Hathaway joining him as a race team owner and engineer.

Paramount Pictures has scheduled the new Days Of Thunder film for a theatrical release on June 2, 2028. The movie will also be shot for IMAX and released in premium formats including Dolby Cinema and 4DX.
