India, Sept. 23 -- Jenna Dewan's daughter Everly was cheering her on during the second night of the season 35 premiere of Dancing with the Stars, with the actress telling Entertainment Tonight after her opening night number that Everly was "so proud of us over there and she had literal tears in her eyes."

The Rookie actor's participation in the competition emerged directly from her daughter's passion for the programme. Dewan was unveiled with the other participants on Good Morning America on 2 September, with the season set to have the joint-largest cast in the show's history with sixteen pairings. Yet Dewan's involvement would not have occurred without a pivotal moment involving her 13-year-old child.
