India, Sept. 1 -- A fresh leadership shake-up has hit the US military as Army Secretary Dan Driscoll reportedly submits his resignation after roughly 18 months in one of the Pentagon's most important civilian posts. His exit follows months of reported disagreements with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth over Army modernisation, readiness and senior military appointments.

The White House praised Driscoll's record, but officials have not publicly explained the circumstances behind the departure. Reuters reported that the White House has not yet accepted his resignation, adding uncertainty over when he will formally leave the post.
