India, July 29 -- Thousands of Costco shoppers in Washington state could soon receive money from a proposed $14 million class-action settlement after the warehouse retailer agreed to resolve claims over its email marketing practices. The lawsuit alleges that promotional emails advertising "limited-time" deals created a false sense of urgency, leading customers to believe discounts would expire even though the offers were allegedly extended later.

While Costco denied any wrongdoing, eligible consumers now have an opportunity to submit a claim before the deadline.
