India, Aug. 4 -- Conor McGregor has confirmed that he is undergoing surgery to repair the torn ACL and meniscus he suffered during his UFC 329 clash with Max Holloway last month. The former two-division UFC champion shared the update on social media on Monday, revealing that the operation will be the fifth surgery of his professional career as he begins the next phase of his recovery.
McGregor sustained the knee injury just 69 seconds into the opening round of his welterweight rematch with Holloway in Las Vegas on July 11, forcing the fight to be stopped. The bout marked his first appearance inside the Octagon in more than a year, but his comeback was cut short by the injury.
