India, Aug. 10 -- Connecticut voters head to the polls in November facing a ballot dominated by one question: whether Democrats can extend their long-standing grip on every statewide office and both chambers of the General Assembly for another term.

Incumbent Democratic Governor Ned Lamont is seeking a third term, a bid that would make him the first Connecticut governor to do so since 2002, running against Republican state Senator Ryan Fazio, who secured his party's nomination at its May convention. Kamala Harris won Connecticut by 14.5 percentage points in 2024, a margin analysts widely expect to shape the governor's race in Lamont's favour again this year.
