India, July 23 -- Team Gambia will head to the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a focused squad of 12 athletes, marking the nation's 13th appearance at the event. Backed by funding from the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the delegation has concentrated its preparations on four key individual sports where Gambian athletes have the strongest opportunity to compete on the international stage. Athletics remains the country's biggest medal hope, while swimmers Pap D. Jonga and Ousman Jobe will represent Gambia in the pool alongside competitors in judo and track cycling.
