India, July 27 -- Day 5 of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games has turned into one of India's most promising days yet, with the contingent remaining in contention across several medal events. The action began with mixed results as Gurindervir Singh bowed out in the men's 100m heats after clocking 10.39 seconds, while Commonwealth silver medallist Murali Sreeshankar safely qualified for the men's long jump final with a leap of 8.01m. Lokesh Sathyanathan also advanced to the final after producing a best effort of 7.77m.
