India, July 27 -- India's track and field campaign received a major boost as Murali Sreeshankar and Tejas Ashok Shirse both secured places in their respective Commonwealth Games finals. Sreeshankar cleared the qualifying standard in style, producing a first-attempt leap of 8.01 metres to book his spot in the men's long jump final. Meanwhile, Shirse delivered a composed run in the men's 110m hurdles, finishing third in Heat 1 with a time of 13.76 seconds. His performance earned him automatic qualification for the final, giving India two more medal hopes in athletics.
