India, April 28 -- As many as 200 residents have been forced to evacuate their homes as heavy rainfall in a southern Chinese city caused widespread flooding, submerging vehicles and triggering emergency weather warnings.

According to the Chinese state media, residents were trapped as the rainwater entered homes situated in Qinzhou city in the Guangxi region. The rescue crew responded to the situation by wading through chest-high water to evacuate those stranded on the roof. Dramatic footage showed firefighters carrying the elderly in their arms and helping them onto the boats.
