India, Oct. 30 -- Several neighbourhoods across Chennai are scheduled to face a power outage on Friday as the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) carries out maintenance work on the city's electricity infrastructure.

According to the utility's advisory, power supply will generally be suspended for five hours, from 9 am to 2 pm. However, electricity may be restored earlier in some locations if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule. The shutdown is intended to improve the electricity network and connectivity. Residents have been advised to plan their activities accordingly and stay updated on restoration announcements.
