India, Aug. 12 -- Carlos Alcaraz's US Open title defence has been thrown into fresh doubt after the Spaniard withdrew from the Cincinnati Open while continuing to recover from his wrist injury. The setback comes after a strong start to his 2026 season, with Alcaraz winning his maiden Australian Open title and becoming the youngest man to complete the career Grand Slam.
The 23-year-old also lifted the Qatar Open title, reached the Indian Wells semifinals and finished runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters before his injury setback.
