India, Oct. 6 -- Former American Idol singer Caleb Flynn was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of murdering his wife, Ashley Flynn, at their home in Tipp City, Ohio.

During Monday's sentencing hearing, Ashley's sister Kayla Keyt delivered an emotional victim impact statement directly addressing Flynn, 40. She described how the murder had devastated Ashley's two daughters, their extended family, and the church community that had once trusted him.

Despite the pain caused by Flynn, Keyt ended her statement with a declaration of forgiveness.
