India, Aug. 23 -- The BWF World Championships 2026 trophies are finally up for grabs in New Delhi. Today, August 23, Sunday, fans will see top badminton stars compete for the world title. The main events include An Se Young facing Akane Yamaguchi in the women's singles, and Kodai Naraoka taking on Alex Lanier in the men's singles.

World number one An Se Young earned her spot in the women's final by defeating China's Wang Zhiyi 24-22 and 21-16, showing her strong finish in straight sets.

Defending champion Akane Yamaguchi also had a great run to reach the final match. She played against Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong in her semifinal and won comfortably with a 2-0 score, taking the games 21-12 and 21-17.
