India, July 31 -- This morning, shocking scenes unfolded in Cyprus as local authorities arrested a UK man on charges of spying while at the RAF Akrotiri air base, and working with Iran. The man has been identified as Rashad Sultanov, a 44 year old man.

British National Detained in Cyprus Over Iran Linked Espionage Plot

Rashad Sultanov, a 44 year old man who holds dual citizenship (Britain and Azerbaijan) was arrested by Cypriot authorities this morning. He was arrested as part of an investigation led by the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London into incidents at RAF Akrotiri between 11 May 2025 and 22 June 2025.
