India, June 5 -- Just hours before Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai hit theatres, a legal battle surrounding the film reached the Bombay High Court. But despite the urgency of the plea, the court declined to halt or interfere with the release of the romantic comedy starring Varun Dhawan. The dispute, filed by Puja Entertainment, formerly known as Puja Films, revolves around alleged rights issues linked to the songs Chunnari Chunnari and Ishq Sona Hai, both featured in the film.

The courtroom drama has now added another layer of intrigue around the David Dhawan directorial, which had already been generating conversation online for bringing back the filmmaker's trademark comedy style.
