India, Nov. 2 -- American tennis player Ben Shelton is set to add former World No. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero to his coaching team ahead of the 2027 season. Shelton confirmed the development through a social media post on Sunday, with the Spaniard expected to work alongside his father, Bryan Shelton, who has been his full-time coach since 2023 and also competed professionally on the ATP Tour.

Ferrero's next coaching move had attracted considerable attention following his split from Carlos Alcaraz at the end of 2025. The former Spanish player guided Alcaraz during a successful period of his career, and his reported association with the World No. 4 Shelton marks a new chapter for the coach.
