The tournament will make history on December 12, 2026, when the Melbourne Renegades face the Perth Scorchers in Chennai, marking the first-ever BBL match to be played outside Australia. After the landmark opener, the competition returns home for a 40-match regular season running through the festive period before the finals begin on January 19, culminating in an Australia Day Final.
