India, Aug. 13 -- There is already plenty of curiosity around Batwara 1947 and now the film has received its first review ahead of its theatrical release. Starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal, the Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is set against the backdrop of the Partition of India and has been backed by Aamir Khan Productions.

The film is scheduled to release on August 14 but producer Ramesh Taurani has already watched it at a special screening and had plenty to say about it. Taking to Instagram, Taurani called the film deeply sensitive and moving and praised the way it highlights humanity during one of the darkest periods in Indian history.
