India, Nov. 7 -- Barcelona have reached an agreement with Marc Bernal over a contract extension until June 2031, with a €500 million release clause included in the deal.

The 19 year old midfielder attracted interest from several Premier League clubs and Atletico Madrid last summer, but Barcelona are keen to secure his long term future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club are expected to formalise the renewal after the international break. Bernal's current contract runs until 2029.
