India, Oct. 2 -- October is bringing a busy holiday schedule for bank customers, with festival celebrations and regular weekly closures set to keep branches shut on multiple dates. While some holidays will affect banks across India, others will apply only to particular cities and states.

The RBI holiday calendar shows that customers could face branch closures on as many as 16 dates during the month, depending on their location.

The schedule includes Gandhi Jayanti, Mahalaya Amavasye, Maha Saptami, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Vijaya Dashami, Laxmi Puja, Karva Chauth and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birthday, along with Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays.
