India, Sept. 11 -- Bank Strike Today, September 11, 2026: Bank customers across India are experiencing disruptions at branch services on Friday due to an one-day strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU). The strike is mainly impacting public sector banks. As a result customers may find it hard to complete transactions that need in-person assistance from branch staff.

September 11 is not a nationwide bank holiday according to the Reserve Bank of India's holiday calendar. There is no closure of banks on that day. Instead the service interruptions are being caused by the employee strike. The RBI's official holiday list shows that September 11 is a holiday in certain areas for local events not, across the country.
