India, Aug. 16 -- Nineteen years after Awarapan, Emraan Hashmi has returned as Shivam Pandit in Awarapan 2. But the sequel is not simply banking on nostalgia. The makers have repeatedly stressed that the new film was designed to continue Shivam's story while expanding the world around him. Writer Bilal Siddiqui has also said the team did not want to "just patch on any story" to the original.
