India, June 14 -- When our immune system behaves like a misguided missile, it can cause us significant damage, instead of protecting us. Recently, a young software engineer consulted this author for deteriorating vision, thyroid function, and seeing flashing lights. Despite extensive consultations and investigations at multiple leading eye hospitals, the diagnosis had been missed. Due to misdiagnosis, he even underwent cataract surgery in both eyes, with no relief.
