India, Aug. 5 -- Australia's preparations for a demanding Test season have suffered an early setback after experienced fast bowler Michael Neser sustained a right calf strain during a training session. The injury is expected to keep the 36-year-old out of action for around a month. He, however, remains optimistic of recovering in time for Australia's Test tour of South Africa in October.

Neser was not included in Australia's squad for the upcoming home Test series against Bangladesh, with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood returning from injury to bolster the pace attack. However, he had been training as a standby option in case one of Australia's frontline quicks suffered a late setback.
