India, Aug. 3 -- Two crew members were killed after two firefighting helicopters collided mid-air while battling wildfires near Athens, Greece, on Sunday. The helicopters, leased by Australian company McDermott Aviation, crashed over Psatha, west of Athens, during an aerial firefighting mission as wildfires continued to spread across southern Europe.

The helicopters had been deployed to assist Greek authorities in tackling the country's ongoing wildfire emergency. Officials have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision.
